Muscles Acting on the Humerus:
PECTORALIS MAJOR
: Prime Mover of humerus (upper arm) flexion and adduction. Also assists the subscapularis in medial rotation of the humerus.

LATISSIMUS DORSI: Prime Mover of humerus extension and adduction. Also assists the subscapularis in medial rotation of the humerus.

DELTOID: Prime Mover of abduction of the humerus. Anterior portion of the deltoid is a Prime Mover for humerus flexion and also assists the pectoralis major in medial rotation of the humerus. The Posterior portion of the deltoid is a Prime Mover for extension of the humerus and assists the infraspinatus and teres minor in lateral rotation of the humerus.

SUBSCAPULARIS: Prime Mover in medial rotation of the humerus.

SUPRASPINATUS: Assists the deltoid in abduction of the humerus.

INFRASPINATUS: Prime Mover of humerus during lateral rotation.

TERES MINOR: Weak assistant to the pectoralis major and latissimus dorsi during adduction of the humerus. Prime Mover of the humerus during lateral rotation.

TERES MAJOR: Assists the deltoid and latissimus dorsi in extension of the humerus. Also assists the pectoralis major and the latissimus dorsi in adduction of the humerus. Lastly, assists the subscapularis in medial rotation of the humerus.

CORACOBRACHIALIS: Assists the deltoid and pectoralis major in flexion of the humerus. Also assists the latissimus dorsi and pectoralis major in adduction of the humerus.

BICEPS BRACHII: Assists the deltoid and pectoralis major in flexion of the humerus.

TRICEPS BRACHII: Assists the pectoralis major and latissimus dorsi in adduction of the humerus.

Muscles Acting On The Forearm:
BICEPS BRACHII: Prime Mover during flexion of the elbow. Also performs forearm supination with the supinator muscle.

TRICEPS BRACHII: Prime mover during extension of the elbow.

ANCONEUS: Assists the triceps brachii during extension of the elbow.

BRACHIALIS: Prime Mover during flexion of the elbow.

BRACHIORADIALIS: Assists the biceps brachii and brachialis during flexion of the elbow.

PRONATOR TERES: Weak assistant to the biceps brachii and brachialis during flexion of the elbow. Also assists the pronator quadratus during pronation of the forearm.

PRONATOR QUADRATUS: Prime Mover during forearm pronation.

SUPINATOR: Works with the biceps brachii to perform forearm supination.

Muscles Acting On The Wrist And Fingers:
Anterior Side:

FLEXOR CARPI RADIALIS: Prime Mover of wrist flexion and helps perform wrist abduction.

PALMARIS LONGUS: Weak assistant to the flexor carpi radialis, flexor carpi ulnaris, and flexor digitorum superficialis during wrist flexion.

FLEXOR CARPI ULNARIS: Prime Mover during wrist flexion. Also helps perform wrist adduction.

FLEXOR DIGITORUM SUPERFICIALIS: Prime Mover during wrist flexion. Also assists in finger flexion.

FLEXOR POLLICIS LONGUS: Performs flexion of the thumb.

FLEXOR DIGITORUM PROFUNDUS: Assists the flexor carpi radialis, flexor carpi ulnaris, and flexor digitorum superficialis in wrist flexion

Posterior Side:

EXTENSOR CARPI RADIALIS (LONGUS AND BREVIS): Assists the extensor digitorum in wrist extension. Also performs wrist abduction.

EXTENSOR DIGITORUM: Prime Mover during wrist extension. Performs finger extension and abduction.

EXTENSOR CARPI ULNARIS: Assists the extensor digitorum in wrist extension. Also performs wrist adduction.

ABDUCTOR POLICIS LONGUS: Performs wrist and thumb abduction.

EXTENSOR POLICIS (LONGUS AND BREVIS): Performs thumb extension.

EXTENSOR INDICIS: Performs extension of the index finger.

Muscles Acting On The Thigh and Leg:
Anterior Side:

ILIOPSOAS: Prime Mover during flexion of the thigh at the hip joint.

SARTORIUS: Assists the iliopsoas during flexion of the thigh at the hip joint. Assists the gluteus medius during abduction of the thigh. Also helps perform lateral rotation of the thigh, and assists the biceps femoris, sememitendinosus, and semimembranosus during flexion of the knee.

ADDUCTOR MAGNUS: Assists the gluteus maximus and biceps femoris during extension of the thigh at the hip joint. Also assists in adduction and medial rotation of the thigh.

ADDUCTOR LONGUS: Assists the iliopsoas during flexion of the thigh at the hip joint. Also assists during adduction and medial rotation of the thigh.

PECTINEUS: Assists the iliopsoas during flexion of the thigh at the hip joint. Also assists in adduction and medial rotation of the thigh.

GRACILIUS: Assists in adduction and medial rotation of the thigh. Also assists the biceps femoris, sememitendinosus, and semimembranosus during flexion of the knee.

RECTUS FEMORIS: Assists the iliopsoas during flexion of the thigh at the hip joint. Also acts as Prime Mover during knee extension.

VASTUS MUSCLES: Prime Mover during knee extension.

TENSOR FASCIAIE LATAE: Assists the iliopsoas during flexion of the thigh at the knee. Also promotes thigh abduction, medial rotation, and assists the rectus femoris and vastus muscles during knee extension.

Posterior Side:

GLUTEUS MAXIMUS: Prime Mover during extension of the thigh at the hip. Also assists the gluteus medius in abduction of the thigh, and assists during lateral rotation of the thigh.

GLUTEUS MEDIUS: Prime Mover during abduction of the thigh. Assists in medial rotation of the thigh.

GLUTEUS MINIMUS: Assists the gluteus medius in abduction of the thigh. Also assists in medial rotation of the thigh.

PIRIFORMIS: Assists the gluteus medius in abduction of the thigh. Also assists in lateral rotation of the thigh.

OBTURATOR INTERNUS: Assists in lateral rotation of the thigh.

ORBTURATOR EXTERNUS: Assists in lateral rotation of the thigh.

GERMELLI: Assists in lateral rotation of the thigh.

QUARDRATUS FEMORIS: Assists in lateral rotation of the thigh.

BICEPS FEMORIS: Prime Mover during extension of the thigh and flexion of the knee. Assists in lateral rotation of the thigh.

SEMITENDINOSUS: Prime Mover during knee flexion. Assists the biceps femoris and gluteus maximus during extension of the thigh. Assists in medial rotation of the thigh.

SEMIMEMBRANOSUS: Prime Mover during knee flexion. Assists the biceps femoris and gluteus maximus during extension of the thigh. Assists in medial rotation of the thigh.

GASTROCNEMIUS: Assists the biceps femoris, semitendinosus, and semimembranosus in flexion of the knee.

PLANTARIS: Assists the biceps femoris, semitendinosus, and semimembranosus in flexion of the knee.

POPLITEUS: Assists in lateral rotation of the thigh. Assists the biceps femoris, semitendinosus, and semimembranosus in flexion of the knee, and also performs medial rotation of the lower leg.

Muscles Acting On The Ankle And Toes:
Anterior Side:

TIBIALIS ANTERIOR: Prime Mover during dorsiflexion of the ankle. Also assists the tibalis posterior in ankle inversion.

EXTENSOR DIGITORUM LONGUS: Prime Mover of extension of the toes. Also assists the tibialis anterior in dorsiflexion of the ankle.

FIBULARIS TERTIUS: Assists the tibialis anterior in dorsiflexion of the ankle. Assists in eversion of the ankle.

EXTENSOR HALLUCIS LONGUS: Assists the tibialis anterior in dorsiflexion of the ankle. Also weakly assists the tibialis posterior in inversion of the ankle, and performs extension of the big toe.

Lateral Portion:

FIBULARIS (LONGUS AND BREVIS): Assists the gastrocnemius and soleus during plantar flexion and helps perform eversion of the ankle.

Posterior Side:

GASTROCNEMIUS: Prime Mover during plantar flexion of the ankle.

SOLEUS: Prime Mover during plantar flexion of the ankle.

PLANTARIS: Assists the gastrocnemius and soleus during plantar flexion.

FLEXOR DIGITORUM LONGUS: Prime Mover of toe flexion. Assists the gastrocnemius and soleus during plantar flexion. Also assists the tibialis posterior in ankle inversion.

FLEXOR HALLUCIS LONGUS: Assists the gastrocnemius and soleus during plantar flexion. Also assists the tibialis anterior in ankle inversion. Promotes flexion of the big toe.

TIBIALIS POSTERIOR: Prime Mover during inversion of the ankle. Assists the gastrocnemius and soleus during plantar flexion.
